Let’s go back in time, to a different location…. It was 12:00 Noon, 5 years ago today, in San Francisco. KTRB AM 860 started broadcasting a brand new radio show called… Computer Talk Radio, starring me… the computer nerd… Benjamin Rockwell.
It’s hard to really say how this all got started. It wasn’t just something simple, or on a lark, but a matter of wonderful coincidences and opportunities that led me to this point. A little more than 5 years ago, I had no idea what would come my way as I did some consulting work for someone who gave me a chance at something more. That chance evolved into something that was amazing, fun, and exciting.
Today, I’ve been to CES 5 times, E3 4 times, CTIA 3 times, and the LA Computer Fair far more times than I can count. I’ve answered questions, from countless phone calls, a myriad of e-mails, and even in person at various events. I’ve sent out gifts to the listeners, reviewed a bunch of products, and brought out a brand new show, every week during that time frame. Each week, it seems like more and more has come along, and I keep taking it all in stride.
5 years later, I’m still going strong, adding more stations, and growing the show each year. All of the listeners, the board ops, the guests, contributers, questioners, church members, supporters, friends, and family members that have been a part of this shows success have been wonderful. Without all of you, it would’t be the same.
As always, I welcome your input, your ideas, and your suggestions for making Computer Talk Radio the best it can be over the next 5 years and beyond.
