Computer Talk Radio weekly show for the broadcast week starting July 20th, 2013. Benjamin Rockwell, our nerd host, starts off the show with the news of the week, including the latest on the Microsoft Surface RT, Emmy nominations for Netflix, paid apps disappearing, and so much more. John Dickson, a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (that’s a title as well as a descriptor) from DenimGroup.com joins Benjamin and they discuss various aspects of how the world is changing over on the security front, Black Hat, Defcon, and more. Deb Shadovitz then joins Benjamin for a few moments to talk about DuckDuckGo, a search engine that is experiencing massive usage in the wake of the NSA spy scandals. Benjamin then takes a question from listener Andy, about how to clean iPhone, iPad, and other screens. Then another listener question from Tracy, which was more of a conversation, which Benjamin boils down into much of the future, and how people hang on too long for the latest and greatest, instead of choosing what’s available now. Steve Keske then joins up and talks about the government being able to add a kill switch to any and all cell phones. Benjamin closes with a reflection that technology is gathering steam, and many of the things that we might imagine now, are perhaps closer than we could even imagine.
