What is used today to “provide a persistent surveillance system to locate and deter narcotic trafficking and homeland security threats”, can be used tomorrow to spy on all of us. I like technology being used against bad guys, but we know that there have been many attacks on citizens 4th Amendment rights in recent decades because of this technology. Further, this is the military, who has no authorization to be spying or conducting surveillance efforts against citizens… something called the Posse Comitatus Act prevents that.
