GameStop circling the drain is something that I’ve drawn attention to before. It’s failure is as inevitable as the demise of Circuit City, Radio Shack, and Toys R Us. It’s fine that they are trying to keep it afloat, but their price points are off, and price change response has been slow to matching the market. In the cutthroat world of gaming, these guys used to be on top, but now it’s like they want to play 1980’s Pacman, while others are playing Far Cry’s latest release.

As GameStop struggles to survive, it’s closing hundreds of locations and expects to close a “much larger” group of stores in the next year or two.
