Another blow to social media, as Alphabet / Google / YouTube must pay $170 million for spying on kids. It’s another fine to scare the people who are running these companies that rake in gabillions of dollars. Is it likely to work? I don’t believe so.

Google, which is owned by Alphabet Inc , and its YouTube video service will pay $170 million to settle allegations that it broke federal law by collecting personal information about children, the Federal Trade Commission said on Wednesday.
