In a new twist, it appears that all of the pledges by various DNA analysis companies will mean nothing. Your DNA, which you gave freely, can now be scanned, cataloged, and more, just as soon as someone else get’s a warrant. At what point do we realize that the benefit does not outweigh our privacy?
“That’s a huge game-changer,” said Erin Murphy, a law professor at New York University. “The company made a decision to keep law enforcement out, and that’s been overridden by a court. It’s a signal that no genetic information can be safe.”
