Some companies stick with logo’s because they are timeless. Some will update with a constant shift to maintain both the history, and a new nature to them. Microsoft being the latter category, has updated over icons and logos yet again, with a heavy emphasis on blues across the board… or screen. Microsoft talks about their design intent constantly “emphasizes building off the familiar” and it seems to work well for them.
The Windows brand is getting a new look and Microsoft has started to rebrand its flagship operating system with a new logo and a hundred newly redesigned icons. The logo and icons were revealed in a series of images posted in a Medium article written by Head of Microsoft Office design Jon Friedman.
