We don’t think about AI on the battlefield, or in the war room, but it will be there. The idea of developing ethical principles is great, but the fact that we have to discuss this, means we also need to discuss that others may not follow the same lines that we do. That becomes more disturbing, the more that I consider it. We may say not to attack civilians, not to engage in X or Y tactics, but others may not be so generous.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Pentagon is adopting new ethical principles as it prepares to accelerate its use of artificial intelligence technology on the battlefield.
