A while back, I loaded a program on my iPhone that would alert me to special deals when in stores. It promised to be minimal, and non-intrusive. 3 days later, with my battery mysteriously getting soaked for every electron, I noticed while I drove down the highway for 10 miles, that I received nearly 20 notifications about sales I was passing by. I killed the app. Now, other apps will be given the power to annoy us just as much.

The ads will surface alongside alerts for personal messages and breaking news.
