This is a tough decision for anyone who gets ransomware… but for cities and companies this is getting rough. We’ve seen this time and time again, and these bad guys are even negotiating to get whatever they can, and the numbers involved are huge. Thousands of dollars are being sent to hackers, untraceable because of Bitcoin and other cybercurrencies, and I’m afraid this won’t stop. Be prepared.
There were at least 113 successful ransomware attacks on state and local governments last year.
