An interesting story in tech, where a hacker (the experimental kind) decided to hack a calculator. Casio responded with a massive attack, claiming copyright, even though he only added his own code. Casio will squash the hacker and stop him, but would lose the case if it made it to actual courts. Unfortunately, the cost and the process isn’t worth anyone pursuing the giant for harassment.
Hobbyist electronics hacker and YouTuber ‘Neutrino’ has been slapped with a DMCA copyright complaint by CASIO for using its copyrighted source code for his project.
