The death of ownership. It’s a book, and the the author has been on our show. This is an example of the intrusion, where a company comes along and says you’ll now have to pay a monthly fee if you want your product (owned for years) to continue to work in a week. Extortion, pick pocketing, or whatever you want to call it… I prefer the word “despicable”. For home automation, stick with the products that are Z-Wave or Zigbee, and work with many hubs.
Wink customers will soon have to pay a monthly subscription fee to access any of the smart home hardware that they have purchased.
