In a crazy attempt to control speeds, Cox Internet has attacked entire neighborhoods for the actions of one high-volume user. In the various actions, they’ve downgraded all users to 10Mbps, even if they were on 1000Mbps (or Gigabit) plans. The kicker is that the user had an Unlimited plan, so there was no reason that Cox should have complained, let alone squelched all the neighbors too.

Cox warns customers to lower usage, imposes 10Mbps upload limit on “gigabit” plan.
