In another sad representation of Big Tech, Google purchased a company with smart glasses, and then shut them down. This past weeks hearings won’t do anything about what I see as the stifling of innovation. I’m a capitalist at heart, but this still saddens me. Imagine all of the cool tech that we could have seen.

Canadian smart glasses maker North announced it was bought by Google on June 30, and now its $600 Focals will be non-functional as of July 31. The company is offering full refunds.
