On the market for just weeks, the Pixel 5 is suffering screen separation issues. The rating on the phone lists it as IPX8, or basically it’s supposed to be water resistant… but with a big gap, perhaps not so much. Also noted is that if you have it replaced under warranty, it’s likely to be replaced with another one with the same problem. This is not good news for an already unremarkable smartphone.

The Pixel 5 might suffer from a serious design or manufacturing issue, as several buyers report that the screen’s plastic bumper is peeling off of the bioresin-coated aluminum frame. The resulting gap might impact the Pixel 5’s water and dust resistance.
