International Travel may soon be covered with additional requirements for vaccination and testing, proved by tech. The idea of attaching a “digital passport” to our smartphones seems like an invite for another disaster for travelers. I support reasonable actions, but what happens if you’re visiting some far off locale, and your smartphone joins the fishes in the deep blue sea? Can you get back? Or is it just like being robbed of your passport, wallet, and everything else?
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has announced that it is nearing the completion of a “digital passport” mobile app that would allow travelers to show their COVID-19 testing and vaccination certificates.
