No surprise that all kinds of screen time has gone up in the past year, nor changed since. I wish that we had some other options, but I think we’ve also overlooked that books are harder to come by in print, libraries aren’t running, and more. Unfortunately, socialization has transitioned to tech as well, with many play dates or time with family being virtual. This will impact young eyeballs, so please encourage them to not sit to close to the screen… and to leverage short breaks on a very regular basis.

For most parents, pre-pandemic expectations around screen time are no longer realistic.
