An Arizona State Rep is preparing a bill that would allow developers to make money outside of the Apple or Google app stores. Regina Cobb is seeking to break down the walls and allow programmers to make money in an open and more competitive market, than the two markets that take 30% without a chance to negotiate. Google and Apple are both lobbying hard, and this could be an interesting watch. Part of this is comiong from the Epic Games issues from a few months back, but even more from people who are sick of the near monopoly on app development.

Arizona’s App Store bill, HB2005, would allow app developers to use third-party payment systems to circumvent the 15% to 30% cut that Apple and Google take from app sales.. Similar legislation failed in North Dakota last month.
