Imagine a world where the minimum wage delivery guy or gal is now required to setup your Ikea style furniture. That’s Amazon’s latest move. I struggle with letting strangers in my house, but now we’re going to have them sit there for two hours making sense of the poor instructions and putting together our bookcases? What if they are too slow? Points off. What if you don’t like it? Points off, and the driver has to disassemble and bring it back. This starts in Virginia soon, and will expand if it makes enough profit.
The reported test would require Amazon drivers to assemble items inside customers’ homes, and then disassemble them if the customers’ aren’t satisfied.
