Extending on last weeks news of the the White House manipulating Facebook into what is Pravda, Senator Amy Klobuchar has proposed legalizing the government intervention in determining what is and isn’t fact. In this case, it would be only for an “existing public health emergency”, but I fear that this turns into a slippery slope. Limiting free speech of any kind is just a scary proposition, even if this is only a proposed bill. Further, the consequences of a rushed bill like this could leave far more damage than the supposed “good” it purports to create.
