In a scary evolution of our news, our interactions, and social media, the White House is admitting to active censorship. They are reaching out to Facebook and other social media platforms to control “misinformation” and positions that disagree with the “Pravda” of the government. Demands by the Executive Branch to perform these actions are amazingly brazen and also offensive. I don’t care where you are on the political spectrum, but when the government decides what is true and what is not, authoritarianism is on the rise.
“We are in regular touch with the social media platforms and those engagements typically happen through members of our senior staff and also members of our COVID-19 team — given as Dr. Murthy conveyed, this is a big issue, of misinformation, specifically on the pandemic,” Psaki said.
