Apple lost ground in a lawsuit that will proceed in California. As some are coming forward as whistleblowers, a US District Judge has said that Apple must face the claim that Siri violates privacy. That whole idea of spying on us has extended to various places where you don’t expect Siri to be paying attention to you. You may take solace in the idea that you’re not using an Apple device, but the sad case is that other cases are in various stages against Facebook, Google, Samsung, and Amazon.
A federal judge allowed a lawsuit against Apple Inc. to proceed with a claim that its Siri voice assistant violates users’ privacy, but he dismissed part of the complaint under California’s Unfair Competition Law.
