Strangely, Facebook announced they will end their face recognition plans, and delete more than 1 Billion individual identification parameter templates. Amazingly, they announced concerns over how regulators are adjusting rules governing usage, and also “how people can have control over these systems and their personal data”. Of course, their recent negative press from whistleblowers, name changes, and invasive practices appears to finally be taking a toll.
Meta, the company formerly known as Facebook, on Tuesday announced it will be putting an end to its face recognition system.
