Keith contacted me right away when he heard about 3D printed steak. In an article, I saw a picture of what I knew was likely to be concerning. A 3.7 oz steak that was printed, but then incubated from living bovine stem cells. I suppose for a journey in space it might serve some needs, but I also am reminded that even Star Trek’s utopian ideas of food and drink replicators were balanced by dystopian setbacks of inauthentic flavors and textures. I found the picture to be unappealing, and lacking the meaty substance that I would like to see.
