I program in VBA. It’s just one of the tools that I used to automate a number of different projects where I work. I’ve been doing this for ages. Microsoft is making moves to lock this down more, as this is also a way for bad actors (no, not talking television or movies) to spread malware. There will be ways to enable this code, but this could cause setbacks in some offices. Watch out for new updates, and remember that there are ways around this for your own in-house applications.

Microsoft said Monday that it will block users from downloading untrusted Office macros authored in Visual Basic (VBA) that can be used as a way to inject malware into your computer.
