A while back, I talked about how the Amazon Fresh supermarket works. It’s called “Just Walk Out” cashierless, and has a few different things along the way, but it’s more gimmick than novel tech. It would be a marvel to someone who had been asleep for 50 years, but it’s not that amazing. They are continuing with the investment in the idea, recently turning one of their Whole Foods Market’s into… yep, another place they are using their tech to drive more sales in-store, as well as at home.
Amazon has brought its cashierless Just Walk Out technology to a Whole Foods store for the first time. The revamped store opened on February 23rd in Washington, D.C.’s Glover Park neighborhood.
