I’ve been fond of DuckDuckGo for years, but it’s because they really haven’t performed any censorship, manipulation, or other shady techniques. Google will push all kinds of soft censorship or promotion (in the other direction), and DuckDuckGo has stated for ages how they weren’t going to take part in that manipulation. That changed this week as they announced they would down-rank whole sites associated with “Russian disinformation”. Sad state of affairs…
