Tesla, which originally offered the Model 3 base model at $35,000. It was supposed to be the affordable electric car. In Feb 2019, when it hit the market, they kept true to that word. But today, it’s now at $47,000, a huge difference from the $37,000 a year ago. Sure, supply and demand has a part in this, but also, the fact that people will pay Elon Musk’s car company whatever it takes to get this non-gas marvel, that there may be little complaint. Oh, and car prices overall went up 12% in that year… The Model 3 went up 27%, and is now just over the average car transaction of $46,000.
Tesla’s least expensive electric car is getting more and more out of reach for the typical car buyer.
