If you work in a small company, the idea of Netflix laying off 175 employees seems huge. While it’s the second layoff in the last month or so, it represents little more than 1 1/2%. Of course, to those laid off, that’s rough, but it’s not doom and gloom. Actually, there’s a theory that’s been around for ages about the ongoing 10% of employees that don’t pull their own weight. Now, even if you lay that 10% off, another 10% will replace, as it’s a morale killer… so I don’t support the idea of wielding the axe. All the news agencies call out Netflix’s loss of 200,000 subscribers, without calling out the fact that Netflix cut services to Russia… doom and gloom are more interesting, I guess.
Last month the company fired writers for its in-house fan site.
