[Link has bad language] Imagine a guy who sells his product… say a pizza… for $24. Now imagine someone selling his own product for $16, for an $8 loss, to compete with him. Doordash did exactly that to this guy out there. In a crazy ploy, the pizza restaurant owner decided to leverage in on that, making himself a small amount of profit. He ordered 10 pizzas, made $75 back, and then decided to add pizza dough for delivery…. and played around with the idea of buying his own raw materials from himself to use on his own pizzas… for a profit. Yes, it was an experiment, but it was something that leveraged a broken system… broken by design to undercut his own delivery services.
It’s possible to win arbitrage opportunities in DoorDash. This pizza restauranteur netted profits buying his own pies from DoorDash.
