I’m a nerd, and football isn’t interesting. Amazon is streaming NFL, and in their first attempt, they picked up 13 million live viewers. That is interesting. It’s a little more than they were promising, and it’s also a big jump for something that is just starting off. Standard broadcast last year on Fox was 16.4 million live viewers. As we’ve noted, streaming is taking off, and it’s going to kill live broadcast TV over the long haul. I haven’t checked the coverage (again, not being into sports that much), but it does seem to be quite promising.

Amazon.com Inc.’s first regular-season NFL broadcast drew 13 million viewers to its streaming service, delivering an online audience that rivals traditional TV.
