As we move forward with computer operating systems, browsers, and more, we must frequently update when we don’t want to. Google Chrome is slating the end of support for Windows 7 and 8.1 in February, which coincides with Microsoft’s own abandoning of the older operating systgems. Windows 10 will continue to be supported, right now, through October 2025, at a minimum, so if you’re running that, you’ve got time to think it over. With the bowser as being one of the biggest vulnerability points for a computer, however, I’d suggest that you start looking for the exit if you’re not on Windows 10 or 11… or competitor boxes.

Google has joined the funeral procession for Windows 7 and 8.1, announcing the last Chrome update for the aging OSes will come in early February.
