YouTube Premium, which we don’t talk about a lot, due to their small size, also had announcements this week. They are bumping thir plans from $18 a month to $23 a month. This is both overdue, and bold at the same time. It’s been the same price for five years, so overdue. It’s boldness comes from the fact they are streaming Live TV to compete with cable companies, their own original programming is all but dead with most series ended, or in limbo… and then there’s a distinct lack of viewers… 50 million YouTube Premium and Music subscribers, with unknown usage numbers of TV vs music, and Hulu has about that in TV viewers alone.
YouTube Premium is getting a price hike for family accounts which will make the service cost $23/month for the service.
