Apple announced that they will start using USA made chips for iPhones and macs, through a new facility in Arizona. Now, they are still providing them through the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, but it moves jobs onshore, and adds a new bonus. The targeted production levels should be able to meet the overall US demand for the chips in question. Intel is also building new factories in Arizona and Ohio to increase onshore production.
Apple chief Tim Cook has confirmed that the tech giant has inked a deal to buy ‘Made in America’ chips for its iPhone, iPads, and Mac computers.
