If you’re a fan of the small little single board computer called the Raspberry Pi, then it may be a while before you get a new device. The Pi 5 was announced this week as being at least a year away. That places 5 full years between the version 4 and the 5. Now, they have been upong some of the specs along the way, but not much. This is a setback for those who like to tinker with some of the smaller hobbyist computers, but it’s also a part of the ongoing supply chain disruptions and the Raspberry concerns about keeping up with the demand for current versions.
If you’re hoping a new Raspberry Pi will pear in 2023, we have bad news: Rasbposs Eben Upton says work on a Raspberry Pi 5 won’t start until the second half of the year, meaning delivery is a way off yet.
