TikTok is coming under fire again. This time, there are folks on both sides of Congress that are noting the threat. They are seeking a ban on the app, due to the political influence capabilities, all based on Chinese ownership, which could run afoul of the ban of foreign parties influencing our vote. There was the usual outcry from TikTok, ByteDance who owns them, and the Chinese Communist Party who insists they aren’t doing anything wrong. Earlier this year, TikTok surpassed Google as the most popular website in the world, so the concern isn’t insignificant. The volume of traffic, obsession, accompanied by tracking, and censorship, is all of great concern. Many states and agencies have sought to ban usage on government systems, but this is one of the largest attempts to stop TikTok.

TikTok poses a national security threat, according to lawmakers on both sides of the political aisle.
