Microsoft continues to push us towards Windows 11, and the latest effort is Microsoft announcement this week. Effective January 31, you will no longer be able to download and buy Windows 10 from them. Your only option will be through existing stores of licenses that have been shipped out through various cahnnels like Amazon, Best Buy, or Microcenter. There will be some options for a while longer, like OEM copies (used by the actual OEMs, but also people who are going the DIY route). Microsoft continues to appear deaf to the clear news that Windows 11 is not popular, but hopefully Windows 12 or something else will be coming soon.
Microsoft has posted notifications on its digital download pages for Windows 10 Home, Pro, and Workstation stating that it will stop selling Windows 10 licenses at the end of January. Here are your options.
