Cyberattacks continue, and will continue for years to come, and that’s no secret. The latest attack was against Dole foods, the company that provides us with a variety of canned fruits and veggies. This naturally created ripples in their own computing infrastructure in North America, mostly in regards to salads. In our just-in-time economy, just a small amount of an outage can cause a ripple effect. The good news is that ransomware revenue was reported down to $457 million last year, vs $766 million the previous year. This is due to fewer people giving in to the digital terrorists, and more companies focusing on the importance of cybersecurity.
A cyberattack earlier this month forced produce giant Dole to temporarily shut down production plants in North America and halt food shipments to grocery stores, according to a company memo about the incident obtained by CNN.
