Dell, in an effort to staying ahead of the curve of lower shipments of PCs and laptops, has also laid off 6650 workers, or about 5%. This is part of a ripple effect from the pandemic, from economy factors, and Dell’s position in the marketplace. We can see this, as Dell took a retail sales hit of being down 37% in the fourth quarter, about 10% more than Lenovo or HP took. Apple was down about 2% in that same timeframe. Dell is still a large factor in the world, and while 3rd place in PC sales, they have a wider range of products in other tech areas, which leaves them larger than 1st place Lenovo.

Dell on Monday announced plans to lay off more than 6,650 employees, or about 5% of its workforce.
