On the heels of the news from last week that the FBI hacked a ransomware group and shut them down, they are making a new plea. They came to the realization that only 20% of people were actually reporting attacks against them. There’s this feeling of embarrassment, of thinking that the FBI only has interest in certain levels of crime, and more. There’s also a constant threat to not call law enforcement. The reality is that you need to call 911 if someone is attacking you physically, so we need to take that same approach when talking fiscal attacks as well.

Officials have been trying to assuage victims’ concerns about calling law enforcement.
