Section 702 for the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act is this part of the code that allows our government spies to check on foreign persons. The problem is that these searches (3.4 million in 2020) also loop in American communications along with it. Section 702 allows for these searches to move forward without checks and balances, or in other words, they are warrantless. Even still, we’ve had a poor history with the FISA courts over the past, where their turning down requests have been rare… to the tune of .03%. Let me make that simple… So, you want to bet our government has our best interests in mind? Those odds are fairly close to the odds of being dealt a four of a kind in poker with no wild cards.
