The Chevy Bolt has been around since 2016, and is Chevrolet’s top selling electric vehicle. This week, Chevy announced the last Bolt would roll off the line later this year. Sales where 20,000 last quarter, and that’s important for the next bit of info. The plans are to retool their Detroit area plant over to building electric trucks, to the tune of 600,000 annually company-wide, tripling employment at that location, and continuing their move away from smaller vehicles. This is a good move for GM, and will also position them to add more EVs that are eligible for the EV tax credits, which is also good for us.
