Tesla has been moving prices down for a while. Part of this has to do with a waning demand, and an increased ability to supply. It also has to do with keeping those tax credits in their range, as well as attempting to recoup some of their loss of market (from 74% to 57% of the market in a year). Note that Ford has also adjusted prices regularly, as well as other manufacturers. Another item was that Elon Musk posted in 2006, that his vision was to continue to drive pricing to make this more and more affordable over time. I’m not worried, but I also have low intentions of buying an electric vehicle until they meet some of my wants and desires.

In its latest of round of discounts, the cheapest Tesla is now $8,500 less than a year ago.
