The first of Apple’s Rapid Security Response patches went out on Monday. These patches went to recent versions of the operating system, with an intent to resolve issues pertaining to exploits from the bad guys. The first set out of the gate was not smooth, but it was important. We will likely see more of these fixes in the coming months, as Apple uses these to address problems before they become attacks. It’s not quite like Microsoft’s patch routines, but it does recognize that we are in a fallen world, with people who will deliver evil without a second thought.
The “rapid” security fixes are designed to quickly patch security flaws under active exploitation by hackers.
