We’ve mentioned before that gaming now includes advertising, but there is a new twist. Schneider National is a trucking firm, and they recently made a deal with American Truck Simulator to place billboards in-game that say something along the lines of “drive for us and earn money”. This is a novel approach to employment, and while it clearly isn’t going to be a pitch based on your gaming abilities, it does manage to gain enthusiasts who are already interested in the idea of trucking. I’m sure it won’t be very long before some major burger chain inserts their own ads into a video game about running restaurants, flipping burgers, or similar food venture.
