Disney is going something strange. In the past few months, they pulled their original movie Crater from streaming for no apparent reason. They also pulled The Spiderwick Chronicles and Nautilus, even though both had already wrapped all filming and most post-production. Oddly enough, that happened to Batgirl from Warner Bros, Paramount’s Star Trek: Prodigy, and I’m sure there are others I didn’t see. The cost to continue streaming is low, and sure they get write-offs for unrealized potential, but at a certain point, the Mel Brooks movie, “The Producers” is coming to mind.
Two TV originals have been shelved by Disney before they’ve even had the chance to air on its primary streamer.
