I was excited a few weeks ago to hear someone had developed a 35mm film replacement to turn your old film camera into digital. The concept is cool, in that you can leverage old lenses, have a 20 megapixel pickup, and it works with all cameras. Downsides initially were the lackluster sample photos, but then the project went live on Kickstarter. The price point is $700 through the early pricing period, and is going to climb from there. At that point, you’re already at the price of a Nikon or Canon entry level camera. Not exactly thrilling, even for someone who has a few Olympus OM-10 cameras that are just classic amazing. Perhaps the price will come down lower someday with volume…
