Netflix rolled out an ad tier about 2 months ago. It was a rework of the Basics tier. The interesting thing is that the Basics tier bumped up by 8 million in that same time, bringing their subscribers there up to 10% of the viewers. The numbers released this week also highlighted that those on Basic with Ads, are watching for more than two hours each day, meaning Netflix is now raking in more money than expected, from the advertising. This is a serious bump for Netflix, who is already leading the way in the streaming world as the other streamers are searching for ways to just maintain or even create profit where they didn’t have it before.

Netflix continues to add millions of new users to its ad-supported tier, whose total is just shy of 25 million.
