A notorious gang, RansomHub, claims responsibility for a cyberattack on Christie’s, the prestigious and high priced art auction house. While Christie’s hasn’t labeled it a ransomware attack, they’ve finally restored their website and app after the cyber struggle. RansomHub boasts about nabbing 2 gigabytes of Christie’s data, including sensitive client info like passport numbers and birthdays. They’re playing hardball, threatening to leak data unless a hefty ransom is paid. This type of ransom is tougher to beat, as the proof will be a lot of millionaires being told their Amex Black card has been released, used, and shared amongst other hackers. Not good.

Hackers claim to have 2GB of data, including customers’ passport numbers and financial info.
