With problems finding enough workers, the cashier-less Starbucks is coming. Already partway there with apps, you can grab your frappe with extra whipped cream in many stores. Now they have a store in Manhattan that will join Amazon in the grab and go practice. There’s a little more to it, but you’ve got the idea. I’m not thrilled with Walmart and grocery stores forcing this upon us, not anyone, really, but giving us options is good. My philosophy is that sometimes the workers know the details far faster than the occasional shopper. We’ll see how this all unfolds.

Starbucks and Amazon team up to take consumers into the next generation of retail.
